Becoming a Legionella Risk Assessor

Organisations, or individuals who provide residential accommodation have a legal obligation to take suitable precautions to prevent or control the risk of exposure to Legionella bacteria, under the HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACOP).

Domestic Energy Assessors and other energy professionals looking to carry out Legionella Risk Assessments, will need to successfully complete the ABBE Level 2 Award Awareness of Legionella training course. Once you are a qualified, you can join ecmk’s Legionella Risk Assessment Competency Scheme.

By joining ecmk’s Legionella Risk Assessment competency scheme you’ll have a licence to operate as a Legionella Risk Assessor and have an effective means to lodge your legionella risk assessments, with the assurance of quality control. You will also gain access to other services ecmk has to offer.

Software

ecmk has developed market leading software, which is free to use for ecmk accredited Legionella Risk Assessors, enabling efficient production and official lodgement of legionella reports.

Once you are accredited, you can start to use the software straight away and you only pay for the lodgement fee, which includes a pay per click Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
