Accreditation for Energy Assessors
All Energy Assessors need to be members of an Accreditation Scheme before they can issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Display Energy Certificates (DECs), Advisory Reports or Air-Conditioning Reports. Accreditation provides assurance for your clients that you are competent to do the job, professionally qualified, and properly insured.
At ecmk we pride ourselves on the personal service that we offer to our Assessors particularly in relation to:

- Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance (available on a "pay-per-EPC" basis for some types of assessment).
You can join an ecmk Accreditation Scheme by two routes:
QUALIFICATION ROUTE
Most Assessors follow the qualification route to become accredited, gaining a nationally-recognised qualification. ecmk is approved to deliver Energy Assessor qualifications awarded by ABBE (Awarding Body for the Built Environment) covering all strands of energy assessment (i.e. existing and new dwellings, commercial buildings, public buildings and air-conditioning systems).
Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment (DipDEA)

Diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment (DipNDEA)
Diploma in Display Energy Certificates (DipDEC)
Diploma in Air Conditioning Energy Assessment (DipACEA)
APEL ROUTE
The APEL route (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) has been developed specifically for experienced practitioners - if you have been carrying out energy assessments for a number of years, APEL is probably the option for you. More information
ecmk is approved by the Government to manage Accreditation Schemes for Energy Assessors of:

- new dwellings
- commercial buildings
- public buildings
- air-conditioning systems
